Year 7 & 8 Career Talk

Mr Todd spoke about his work in forestry and how he came to the profession later in life — a role he now thoroughly enjoys. Prior to this, he had worked in a variety of different jobs.

Mrs Kirkland talked about her career as an actor, explaining how challenging it can be to secure roles, but also how rewarding it is to perform on stage or appear on television.

Both speakers highlighted the importance of resilience and reassured pupils that it’s perfectly acceptable to change careers if something doesn’t feel right.

We hope that next year more parents will be willing to volunteer and share insights into a wider range of career paths.
