Year 1 Dress Up Beach Day
Year 1 enjoyed a fantastic Dress Up Beach Day on Thursday 19th June. As always, the Year 1 parents went above and beyond, providing the children with an incredible array of beach-themed costumes – thank you so much for your creativity and support!
We had pirates, a lighthouse, a shell, a jellyfish, a mermaid, some very cool beach boys and surfers, a shark, and even children holding Save the Ocean placards to remind us all about the importance of protecting our environment.
The children took part in a range of exciting activities, including maths (pattern work, multiplication and addition), outdoor sand and water play, and some wonderful seaside stories.
Mrs Reed led a brilliant craft activity using cups, tealights, sand, pebbles and shells. Each child created their own lighthouse surrounded by rocks, complete with a working tealight – they look incredible.
A big thank you to the kitchen team for providing a delicious picnic lunch, complete with ice lollies and jelly. Thank you also to Mrs Reed for all her amazing help and enthusiasm, to the maintenance team for setting up the sand and gazebos outside, and to the generous parents who kindly lent us inflatables.
It was a truly memorable day – thank you to everyone who made it so special!
