Snappy Sounds and Snail Adventures with Kindy

It has been another productive week in the Kindy Classroom! The children have really enjoyed Fred Frog games and are making great progress in their ability to blend words orally. They have also started ‘Say a Poem’ from the RWInc scheme. ‘The Snail and the Whale’ has been our book of the week; it is a wonderful story about adventure, quick thinking, and friendship. The sound of the week has been ‘y’ and the children have gained so much confidence as they all ‘have a go’ at writing the sound in their books. They are becoming very good at recognising bouncy and stretchy sounds.

In maths, the children have been learning about size, focusing on small, medium, and large, with links to our book of the week. They enjoyed ordering shells and teddy bears, as well as building towers to represent different sizes.
