Reception's Blast From the Past!

This week, the children have been exploring what life may have been like in the past through our Book of the Week, ‘Peepo!’. The story sparked lots of discussion about how homes, toys and daily life have changed over time.

The children were fascinated by a collection of real artefacts from the past and enjoyed investigating how they might have been used. Particular favourites were an old typewriter and a Fisher-Price pocket radio toy from the 1970s. The children were curious to compare these objects with the technology and toys they use today, asking thoughtful questions and sharing their ideas.

Through their discussions and investigations, the children developed their understanding of the past, talking about similarities and differences between life now and life then. It has been wonderful to see their curiosity and enthusiasm, as well as their growing interest in finding out about the world around them and how it has changed over time.
