Wellbeing talks

17th January 2020

Thursday evening saw the first of our wellbeing talks – ‘The Mysterious Workings of the Teenage Brain’ by Dr Anne-Lise Goddings MBBS MA (Cantab) PhD, Clinical Lecturer at the UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health and specialist in the adolescent brain, followed by ‘C’est La Vie, how to build resilience in children’ by Pippa Goedkoop BA (Hons) DIP OCR SpLD, specialist teacher and qualified assessor of learners with dyslexia/SpLDs and Head of Learning Support and Extension at Barrow Hills.

The evening was fully booked, with 100 people from Barrow Hills, King Edward’s and the local community. Our excellent speakers were enlightening and thought provoking and huge thanks to them both.

There are two more in the series planned for this academic year, Wednesday 11th March and Thursday 4th June, with speakers to be announced shortly.
