News from Pre-Prep

24th November 2023

There was an overwhelming sweet, seasonal smell of oranges wafting around Pre-Prep today as our children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 made their christingles ahead of the school’s first Christingle Service this Monday. After learning what the red ribbon, the sweets, sticks and the orange itself all represented, the children put these items together and then placed a candle in the top. As you’ll be aware from previous Tuesday Comms, the Christingle Service takes place this Monday at 8:50am in Chapel for Reception to Year 6. All parents are very welcome to come along and mark the start of the festive season with us. Refreshments will be available after the service in the Refectory.

On Tuesday morning, Austin (YR), Walter (1R), Jake (1G) and Zac (Y2) were each presented with ‘Work of the Week’ certificates for their efforts in a range of aspects of their learning including writing and mathematical thinking. We then awarded Sophie, Minty, Mia and Rocco, all from Reception Class, and Matilda (1G) with their bronze certificates. Well done all of you for achieving these this week.

Nativity rehearsals are in full swing for Tuesday 12th December! Children from Nursery to Year 2 are very busy practising songs, trying costumes and could be heard up and down the corridors this week as classes practised with their teachers for the production of Hey Ewe!

Enjoy a lovely weekend.
