24th November 2023
Year 8 have heaved a sigh of relief this week as their November mock exams are well and truly over! Teachers will be handing papers back next week. They will encourage children to look at what went well, as well as helping them set targets to improve so that they continue to make progress.
Now the exams are over, Year 8 have been working especially hard for their production of ‘Annie’. Two beds for our orphans and a wheelchair for President Roosevelt arrived this week and the cast have enjoyed practising with them – our marvellous Tech Team have even solved the problem of getting them on and off the stage!
The Year 7 children have continued to work hard this week and I was particularly impressed by their slide show presentations on William Blake and his works in our English lessons this week. These were interesting and informative.
It has been wonderful to see our captains getting to grips with their roles. The drama captains, Izzy, Eloise and Izzy, did a fantastic job compèring House Poetry on Tuesday, and I know that Pre-Prep have really appreciated the help of the Pre-Prep Captains, Amelie, Daisy, Eloise and Rosie. Our House Captains have also been working hard to improve the House boards.
Next week looks busy with a trip to the Science Museum for Years 7 and 8 on Monday, and the Autumn Concert on Tuesday.
Have a lovely weekend everyone!
Best wishes,
Luisa Mason
