Reception Celebrates Lunar New Year

This week in Reception, the children have been exploring Lunar New Year, a celebration that marks the start of the new year in many East and Southeast Asian cultures. It is a time for families to come together, enjoy special meals, and take part in traditions that bring good luck for the year ahead.

The children have had a fantastic time making masks to retell the story of the Chinese zodiac, creating colourful dragon puppets, painting numbers, and crafting beautiful paper lanterns. They’ve brought the celebration to life through their acting and even set up their own Chinese takeaway role-play area, taking orders over the phone!

What a wonderful week of creativity, storytelling, and discovery.

Well done, Reception!
