This week Year 2 have been investigating the property of absorbency in the Barrow Hills Science Lab. The children worked in pairs to test the absorbency of a range of different materials – some of which proved to be absorbent, whilst others did not.
In order to compare the relative absorbency of the materials that did soak up water, the children carefully squeezed water from the materials into a measuring cylinder and recorded the amount of liquid in ml that each material was able to hold.
They worked systematically, collaboratively and with great care and enthusiasm.
Well done Year 2, and thank you Mr Behan for sharing your fantastic Science Lab with us!
