Another week of wonderful engagement from some of the youngest learners at Barrow Hills, just taking it all in their stride. We are in awe of their ability to cope with all the changes distance learning brings and their ‘have a go’ attitude. All done with beautiful smiles.
In maths, the children have focused on different ways to make 6p and 10p with pennies and 2 pence coins and number bonds to five and ten. Literacy has continued with new sounds and handwriting. The children set themselves goals for the New Year including learning to ride a bike, doing lots of exercise and climbing really high trees, and also created ‘wanted’ posters to accompany one of our stories.
They explored all the countries that make up the UK as part of our map work and then made their own treasure maps, ageing them with teabags and coffee. The children gathered sticks and conjured up some magical wands. We hope not too many family members get turned into frogs this weekend!
Great work Reception.
