Josh Haines OBH 2023

If you asked Josh what he loved most about his time at Barrow Hills, it would be the time he spent playing sport! He always loved playing hockey, playing at Guildford Hockey Club from aged six and as part of the A Team squads at U8, U12, and now U14, but he also enjoyed all the sports on offer at school, in particular football and cricket.

He was nominated by Barrow Hills and Guildford Hockey Club for County trials, and has been part of the Surrey Hockey squad for the past three seasons. He also played as part of a regional squad last season called ‘South Saxons’, comprised of county players from across the South of England, and his team went on to win the final tournament. Now that the England player pathway process has moved away from Performance Centres to Talent Academies (TAs), Josh’s ambition is to secure himself a place on the Guildford TA squad for next year.
