Not even Covid-19 restrictions could stop the Barrow Hills House Poetry Competition from taking place, albeit in a slightly altered form!
Every child in Years 3 to 8 wrote a poem on the theme of ‘Vision’ in their English lessons. Their English teachers had the very difficult task of choosing one from each House in each year group. These poems were then sent to our judge, Mr Allen Head of English at King Edward’s Witley, who had the even more difficult task of choosing a winner from each year group. He then kindly recorded a video message announcing the winners as we were unable to have a ‘live’ event this year.
The overall winner was… Murtough! Well done to all the finalists and well done to everyone for taking part and writing such fantastic poems. Enjoy reading the entries below.
