Year 1 have been amazing this week. A huge round of applause to Year 1 children (and their parents) for such incredible work.
Year 1 have been consolidating their maths, focusing on subtraction, ordinal numbers, one more and one less and odd and even numbers and counting in 2’s, 5’s and 10’s.
They have also done a writing activity almost every day and I have been very impressed with the independent writing I have seen. This has included writing about their teddy bear and daily news. I can tell the children have been using their phonic knowledge to sound out and I am proud of their lovely cursive writing. They wrote the story of The Good Samaritan in their own words too.
Year 1 have investigated how we use forces round the home in science and they have also been learning about Victorian toys.
I am delighted with all the wonderful work I have been sent. Thank you everyone!
