Year 8’s Geography challenge this week was to build on their higher order thinking and study skills. The children were asked to tackle news articles from different sources to weigh up the reliability and persuasive nature of written work in the media. From here, they looked at summarising work into bullet points, building their learning power and then as an additional step challenged themselves to rewrite the news article in exactly 100 words.
Year 8 were investigating challenging content; including looking at the potential for the population to reach 9.7 billion in 2050 as well in a separate article the suggestion that cities should now be developed from scratch rather than building on existing infrastructure.
Great work Year 8!
