Year 1 has had a fantastic week.
They have loved Nursery Rhyme Week and have all remembered songs, chosen favourites and learnt new rhymes. They loved listening to the older children singing to them too. Some of the class favourites are ‘Alice the Camel’, ‘Row Row your Boat’, ‘The Grand Old Duke of York’ and ‘Miss Polly had a Dolly’.
The children have used the nursery rhyme ‘Twinkle Twinkle Little Star’ to inspire them to write about stars and to compose their very own acrostic poem.
During Anti-Bullying Week we have explored themes of friendship, being individual and being inclusive.
The children have listened to the story of ‘Elmer the Elephant’. They have designed their own Elmer pictures and they have also created their own odd socks.
Well done Year 1, it has been such an exciting and productive week!
