Year 1 has had a fantastic week. They have worked extremely hard and had amazing support from their parents at home.
Dress up Tuesday was cosy clothes- although everyone was rather warm as it was a mild day!
The children have learnt what a verb is and how verbs are used in sentences. They are learning new sounds every week and consolidating known sounds. Congratulations to all Year 1 for their effort and enthusiasm.
In maths they have been problem solving, seeing a range of methods used to add and subtract to 20 and more place value. Mrs Crisell commented:
“I have been so impressed with their determination and focus this week.”
In the topic lessons they have loved learning about Victorian kitchen inventions to enable them to wash, clean and cook. They have also watched a video about how the Victorians made ice cream!
In science they have grouped animals into reptiles, amphibians, mammals, fish and birds and in RE they have thought about people who care for us outside our family.
Children and staff alike are all looking forward to some exciting activities next week centred around our Be Amazing theme.
“Congratulations to Year 1 for all their enthusiasm and amazing hard wok. A huge thank you to all the parents for their efficient time keeping and incredible support.”
