This week in Reception saw some of the children returning excitedly to School while others continued to enjoy their learning at home.
They have continued with their reading and writing and have been exploring the concept of ‘capacity’ in maths. The children have had fun with practical activities, sorting different-sized and shaped containers by capacity and checking their thinking using smaller cups as measures.
The children have made magical ‘potions’ in the garden from herbs, leaves, chalk and other interesting ingredients; and those in School had fun guessing what the children at home might be putting in their potions.
After listening to various poems and stories, the children engaged in story-inspired art and craft activities, including making a paper crab puppet and hanging ‘moon’ art – or in one case, the whole solar system!
The children, as ever, continue to love their PE, music and French lessons, participating enthusiastically whether at home or in School.
A great first week back – thank you children and parents!
