On Friday 29th April, King Edward’s welcomed almost 50 children from Years 4 and 5 at Barrow Hills to a fun filled afternoon of activities. All the children took part in an exciting cricket session on the pitch and in the nets, led by Head of Cricket, ex-professional cricketer, Mr Rikki Clarke. They then enjoyed using their voices and acting skills in a workshop held by Mrs Emma Ryman in the impressive drama studio.
This was followed by an amazing afternoon tea party spread, complete with a very active popcorn machine. Some children used the ‘smoothie bike’ which harnessed the cyclist’s pedaling energy to mechanically power a blender and create delicious smoothies.
It was an excellent afternoon enjoyed by both children and staff. The King Edward’s team are looking forward to doing this again next term.
