With the clocks going back and everywhere feeling a little bit colder, and darker, it was time to inject some colour into the Pre-Prep Forest School area. We were greeted last week with a breath taking display of nature, a stunningly beautiful magic carpet of autumn leaves, covering everything and everywhere!
Every year it takes my breath away.
With Bonfire Night approaching, we discussed the Gunpowder Plot, Guy Fawkes and read a story about going to watch a bonfire. Nursery and Kindy pretended to be rockets exploding into the night.
We decorated our fire circle area with giant firework explosions, created by threading colourful leaves onto a threaded conker. I love watching the focus and concentration on the children’s faces when ‘sewing’ the leaves together, plus their absolute joy at finding the ‘bestest’ leaf in the whole world!
