Last Friday, showcases began again at King Edward’s Witley and it was wonderful to hear what our guitarists have been working on over the summer and since the start of term.
This year, King Edward’s musicians were joined by two children from Barrow Hills who showcased the school’s budding talent. Huw (7G) and Sam (7G) both entertained us with the electric guitar; Sam playing a melody and Huw playing the solo of ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’.
Audience members were incredibly impressed with the playing ability of the two boys; their musicianship and skill, as well as their confidence to go up on stage and perform so well. They both were a credit to the school and will be performing again as part of the ‘Skull Splitters’ band at the school concert on Thursday 14th October.
The upcoming showcases in the summer term, as well as other events in the calendar, continue to strengthen the link music has been building at both schools under the Bridewell Foundation.
