This week in PSHE, Year 5 weighed up the advantages and disadvantages of transport, all with the thought ‘can we ditch the car?’ as their main question. The children did well at justifying their answers through conversation whilst developing their thoughts on how to reduce their carbon footprint in general. Everything from reducing their waste, buying local produce, and turning down their thermostat.
I am trying to practise what I preach by walking into School and back; if anyone would like to support my summer term mission by lending a bicycle to shorten my commute it would be much appreciated! It has been great seeing Year 6 walking and cycling from home to school and back again – well done Verity and Anastasia, who spring to mind.
