It was a long wait, but the first signs of new life finally appeared on Friday afternoon. A small but discernible crack could be spotted on one of the eggs. But, as is the way, nothing then happened for ages! There was high excitement for the Reception children on Monday morning as they waited to see what news Mrs Reed would bring.
Much to their delight, Mrs Reed arrived with five little chicks! There has been a stream of visitors to the Reception classroom throughout the week and as the chicks have grown, they have become noisier and more curious. Having kept children (and staff!) entertained, it was time to bid them goodbye today and wish them well in their new home with Mrs Ferris.
A huge thank you to Mrs Reed and Mrs Harris for all their care and for welcoming us all into the classroom.
