At late after school club in the sunny Early Years garden Hermione (2G) instructed Sophie (1G) Lenny (Nursery) and Miss John (Nursery Lead Practitioner) on how to make ancient Egyptian paper, by shredding the soft inside bark from some recently installed log circles and then lining up and cross layering the fine pulpy strands. Although they had no heavy weights for the completion of the activity, this focused and considered endeavour was a joyful example of shared knowledge and very happy industry, in which they all delighted for some considerable time. The children (and Miss John!) were deeply content and happy in this purposeful creativity, only leaving when fearing no tea would be left for their hungry tummies!
