Easter has been the focus of Reception’s expressive arts and crafts this week. The children created hanging egg decorations by rolling out clay and using a variety of implements to make indentation patterns. We also looked at how colours can be combined by blending pastel crayons with fingers and paper towels. The children then added a silhouette of a chick or a bunny to create very striking Easter cards. In maths we explored 3D shapes, went on a 3D shape hunt and created 3D shapes using paper nets. The children were amazed that flat paper could be transformed into cylinders, cones, cubes, cuboids and pyramids! Another fabulous week of learning Reception.
