On Monday, Years 6, 7 and 8 and five members of staff went to Fishbourne Palace. When we arrived, Years 7 and 8 went to a workshop about military matters where they could handle real artefacts, try on clothes worn by Roman soldiers and hold weapons. Year 6 enjoyed a workshop about domestic life, which included how Romans cooked and what they ate.
The children all watched a video about Roman life and Fishbourne Palace and finally went around the museum and looked at the amazing mosaic. Luckily, the weather was beautiful so we could eat outside and go around the stunning gardens.
Some of the Year 6 children particularly enjoyed the interactive area with clothes, weaving and mosaic making and it was lovely to see them doing something different away from screens.
It was a really enjoyable learning experience.
