This year, our harvest farmers’ market was unable to take place. Instead, we asked Barrow Hills families to support our local community by donating to the Godalming Community Store, a temporary but valuable resource for people to use during the current Coronavirus pandemic.
Godalming Town Council collaborated with the Farncombe & Godalming Coronavirus Assistance Group and the St Mark’s Food Bank to open the Godalming & Villages Community Store to support those in need. Thank you too to Oliver, our Charity Captain for all his help at school with the collection.
The ‘thank you’ below is to all those who kindly donated to our appeal.
Firstly on behalf of the Godalming Community Store many thanks for fantastic donation from Barrow Hills. The volunteers were hard at work this morning sorting through it. As you can see from the attached photo, it really is a significant donation. It is a great testament to the school and the Barrow Hills community, of which everyone should be proud.
It has come at a particularly important time. This week here has been a noticeable increase in numbers having to use the Community Store, as regrettably jobs disappear leading to very difficult personal situations. Donations like this become a very important lifeline, right in the heart of our community.
Many thanks once again to all involved in this fantastic donation.
