In geography this week, Years 4, 5 and 6 had a go at making journey sticks. They went outside to investigate distances and direction.
At School, Year 6 headed down to Forest School to look at routes and see if they could get a partner to follow their path with nothing more than their journey sticks to begin with. The children then built on their work by showing distances between two objects as distances on their meter sticks and added further guidance with written instructions based around compass directions.
Luckily they got a bright sunny day, I am not sure Year 4 were so lucky!
