Kindy has been peering into mirrors and studying their families very closely as the children explored what makes us, us. For our ‘All About Me’ topic, the children created self portraits, drew families and pets, investigated their five senses, the skills that make us special, their skeletons and how they need to eat healthily to grow big and strong.
The children imagined what jobs they would be good at in the future. Fairy and zookeeper were among the choices. One child wanted to be a Mummy, but decided the pay was not up to scratch!
The weekly sound was ‘w’ worm, the number was 7 and the maths focus was shapes. Kindy ‘show and tell’ included a lesson in flat bread making, and a starring role for Elvis, Mrs Hostler’s handsome spaniel! Mrs Burnett set relay racing as a PE challenge. Mrs Hardy sang songs about potatoes and crocodiles and Mme Early treated us to the recipe for a croque-monsieur. Délicieux! Another week of super learning Kindy. Smiley faces all round!
