WOW! Thank you Barrow Hills – what a totally fantastic response to the Lent Appeal! Our children (and families!) have truly embodied our pupil profile attributes of compassion and generosity in the last few weeks as they raised money for Challengers.
A few examples of fantastic fundraising include; Daisy-Skye (5R) who completed a 10 km walk with her Dad.
Cleo (5G) and Ottie (5G) who cycled 47 km on Saturday to the see the sea, both managing not only the distance but some epic hills along the way.
Edith (5R) who baked 168 cupcakes (vanilla, chocolate, caramel, marshmallow, lemon and Easter nests). Edith manned her stall on a chilly afternoon feeding very happy passers-by; particularly her Year 5 friends as well as neighbours and the local community.
The very brave Max HD (5R) who shaved his lockdown hair – teachers and staff alike loved the big reveal. We hope your head isn’t too cold, Max!
Bea (3G) cycled a sandy and hilly 17 km around Rushmoor and Frensham and Bertie (6G) took his cycling challenge one step further as he dressed up as a girl, complete with some unusual make-up and covered 17 km over tough Chiddingfold Hills.
Following the Lent Appeal letter and on reading about Louis (8G) doing a running fundraising challenge, Louis (4G) was inspired to also raise some money for Challengers. Louis (and his Mum!) tried to take it steady and do a little running everyday. He ran an average of 5.2 km per day around Hambledon for eight consecutive days. This meant running at 6.00 am for a number of days last week before school! By the following weekend, Louis decided that he wanted to reach a marathon distance (42.2k) which he reached in 8 days. In total he ran for 5 hours 22 minutes. Louis, this is quite amazing, well done!
