Year 7 have competed in the 10X challenge. Within their teams they were tasked to come up with a business venture, creating something to sell on their ‘Market Day’. Extra points were awarded for having sustainable ideas or upcycling, and for branding and creativity.
They all exceeded our expectations and we had loads of brilliant stalls. There was a great atmosphere from the hall as parents and children mingled and talked to the stall holders, understanding what they had made, how they came up with their ideas and how they made their products. The Year 7 children were great at selling, were kind, polite and not too pushy. Many thanks to the parents of Year 7, for supporting the children but a huge congratulations to all who took part. We still need to meet for a balance sheet and receipt check and can then report back with the winners of the 10x challenge.
We will be donating a portion of the money to our Lenten charity and the rest will be spent on items for the school, to be voted on by the Year 7 teams. It could be more playground equipment, more books for the library. Who knows, but we will keep you all informed. A big thanks to Mrs Wheeler for helping in our Activity lessons and to Mr Hooker and Mrs Mason for supporting the Year 7s and keeping them enthused in form time for the challenge.
