Children in Middle Prep enjoyed showing their teachers their new working space and they have certainly kept busy during form time with everything from doodle projects to baking. Leonor in particular created a fantastic on point reminder for us all.
Children have been encouraged to respond to the morning and afternoon emails or post on google classroom to ensure they remained engaged and connected with their Form Tutor. As school life continued as normally as possible, even though this may be at a distance, teachers rewarded hard work with credits that, as always, refer to the Pupil Profile. Teachers are delighted that the children continued to show curiosity, bravery and all of the traits that we love to see at Barrow Hills.
On Tuesday, Middle Prep got their brains going with a form time riddle:
I can shave every day, but my beard stays the same. (Just as a hint, this riddle is NOT about Mr Andrade but you may email him with the answer!)
On Wednesday, Middle Prep were encouraged to think about ‘midweek mindfulness’.
So what exactly is mindfulness? This has been covered in lessons, PSHE and our mindfulness week, but as a reminder mindfulness is;
The basic human ability to be fully present, aware of where we are and what we’re doing, and not overly reactive or overwhelmed by what’s going on around us.
The children were asked to immerse themselves in the following activity:
http://www.robbiddulph.com/draw-with-rob and have a go at creating a Gregosaurus.
The Clap For Our Carers campaign on Thursday evening brought together not only Barrow Hills families, but the whole nation.
The Middle Prep teachers have been extremely impressed with the quality of the children’s work this week, their requests for extension work and also their support for each other.
