Another wonderful week of Mrs Hardy’s music for Pre-Prep, with lots of exciting activities to choose from.
In the last week of term, Mrs Hardy is hoping to put together a ‘Pre-Prep concert’ of children singing their favourite song from the last few weeks. Don’t forget to send her your videos!
The children were also set a listening activity this week – to listen to a musical story about a little boy called Peter who captures a wolf with the help of some animal friends. The children listened to how Prokofiev chose instruments that cleverly represent each character: Peter’s happy theme played in the string section, the menacing wolf on the french horns, the chirpy bird on the flute, the stealthy cat on the clarinet, the grumpy grandfather on the bassoon and of course the duck on the oboe – what better choice of instrument for a duck!
