Music in Nursery and Kindy

This term, Nursery and Kindy children have been listening to the story of ‘Peter and the Wolf’, exploring the music written by Sergei Prokofiev. This week, Mrs Beddington hid behind a screen and played the following woodwind instruments: the flute, oboe, clarinet and bassoon. The children had to work out which instrument was which from the story she was playing, and then discuss which character the instrument represented: the bird, the duck, the cat or the grandfather. The children were then able to have a closer look and touch the instruments.
