On behalf of all the children, parents and staff at Barrow Hills, I’d like to say a huge thank you to Lou Emmett, our wonderful librarian, as she leaves us at the end of next week.
Our superb library at Barrow Hills is such an asset and run entirely by Mrs Emmett, who runs lunchtime sessions for children to play games and read books and magazines. She also sources many of our books and organises whole school events like Book Week, booking authors and arranging activities. All this is in addition to putting up wonderful book displays and advising children – and teachers! – on which books to read, and offering invaluable support to the English department across the whole school.
Mrs Emmett, thank you for all you have done. You will be very much missed by us all.
