This week saw the first Peer Mentor training sessions for the children in Years 7 and 8 who have volunteered to become Peer Mentors. The course lasts six weeks and aims to give some of our older children the confidence to help (with adult support) other, younger children with their worries and anxieties, from exam stress to friendship issues.
Sometimes, children connect better with other mentors because they themselves may have experienced similar things in their lives and sharing experiences can go a long way in helping out.
I am delighted that so many children have put themselves forward to help make a difference and thank them all for giving up half of their lunch break too.
