On Monday, as part of their post Common Entrance Programme, Year 8 took part in Play in a Day. They spent the whole day in the hall rehearsing and then, after some well deserved Dominos pizza, performed a very funny version of ‘Macbeth’ to their parents, complete with costumes, make up and fantastic stage lighting.
“The Year 8 Play in a Day is such a lovely event. I find it very poignant not only because it’s one of the last times the children perform together at school as a group, but because I have taught so many of this group since Year 5. To see the progress they have made, and the way their confidence has grown is very special. I am so proud of Year 8 and all they achieved during their time at Barrow Hills.
It was also wonderful to have Old Barrow Hillian drama scholar Freddy Trounce with us for the day, helping out – and even appearing in one of the scenes! It was great to see so many former pupils in the audience too, supporting their siblings.
Thank you to Mr Frazer who played with such superb comic timing and set up our sound and lighting, and also to Mrs Goedkoop for all her support.”
