This week in Reception, the children have been exploring the concept of ‘time’. They have experimented with the question ‘how long is a minute?’ by seeing if they can stand on one leg for a minute, or keep smiling for one minute. After practising how many star jumps they could do in a minute, they discovered that depending on what you’re doing in it, a minute can seem quite a long time!
Children at home and at School have thought about some different ways time can be measured and enjoyed making and testing their own sundials (unfortunately for some, the sun promptly disappeared!). Games of ‘o’clock bingo’ have been played; and pocket watches with moveable hands have been made.
The children have also continued with their reading and writing this week, enjoyed their French and music lessons and been suitably competitive in PE challenges.
Another great week – well done to all the Reception children (and their parents!).
