This week in Reception, the children have continued with their reading and writing and have been looking at ‘sharing equally’ in maths. Sweets, biscuits and other items have been shared between the Three Little Pigs, the Big Bad Wolf, dinosaurs, siblings… and even Darth Vader got a look in!
In Outdoor Classroom, the children have continued to explore their gardens, learning about habitats and the best places to spot various minibeasts before going on their own minibeast hunt. We have learnt a little about ants and created ‘micro-journeys’ in the garden, looking at the world from an ant’s-eye point of view. The children have studied the different parts of a plant: and identified roots, stems, leaves and so on, on a plant from their own garden.
They have also had great fun following their PE lessons, music lesson and French lesson – the French recipe for ‘croque-monsieur’ was a particularly big hit with the children this week!
As ever, thank you to all the parents – and the children – for another great week.
