Year 6 explored their creative side this week when they wrote their own personification poems on the theme of summer.
Mr Andrade had a go as well:
If summer were a person, she would be a fiery haired girl.
Summer would wear loose flowing dresses with the colours of sunset.
Her hair is free and flowing, she has rings that glitter in the sunshine but is always seen barefoot.
Summer smells of warmth, like salty water drifting across a cool ocean.
Like freshly applied sun cream, exotic fruits of Papua and coconut.
Like the promise of a BBQ, a prediction of a meal in the shade.
Summer would spend the day frolicking in fields, dipping ties in rippling water and climbing trees.
By night she collapses with the memories of the joy she has experienced and the plans of the days yet to come.
