It has been a busy week in Reception. In maths, we have been exploring numbers 1 and 2 in lots of different guises. The children have been ‘number detectives’. Equipped with large magnifying glasses, they hunted for numbers indoors and outdoors. They sang ‘The Animals Came in Two by Two’ and coloured in animal masks before running around to find the other child in the class with the same mask.
The children are underway with their phonics, learning to say, read, write and blend their first few sounds. They have also explored their local environment, with an excursion to the school orchard to see the apples growing, as well as enjoyed PE, music and French lessons. They have listened to stories, drawn pictures and engaged with technology in their learning.
Most importantly, the children have enjoyed being with their classmates, having fun and building relationships.
Well done Reception!
