Parents and siblings enjoyed a superb evening of entertainment last night when Year 8 performed ‘The Rocky Monster Show’. This very funny musical about mad professors, monsters and a whole host of strange characters was brilliantly acted by Year 8, who showed a great sense of comic timing! The evening began with a short documentary, filmed, directed and edited by Platon (8G) which told the story of Rocky and The Fenton Five. This starred the siblings of the Year 8 children as the fans of this famous rock group and it was great to see Old Barrow Hillians Luke and Freddy make an appearance too!
Mrs Mason said,
“ I am so proud of Year 8. They have worked so hard to rehearse and perform this show and I was delighted with their performance last night. It was simply magical to be part of a live production again. Mrs Buirski has done a wonderful job making sure that our plays have been filmed during the pandemic but there is nothing quite like live theatre! I would like to thank all the Year 8 parents for their support and also all the staff who have helped with this production, especially Mr Frazer, our musical director and technical expert. It has been a pleasure working with him and with Year 8. Thank you to Bertie from Year 7 for taking on the part of Elsa at very short notice and performing this so well. I would also like to thank the BHCC for the wonderful stage lights. They have transformed our stage and they will benefit all children at Barrow Hills.”
