On Friday 28th January, our U11 netball team set off very early in the morning for Rugby School to participate in the IAPS Netball Tournament.
The girls played sensational netball all morning, comfortably winning each match in their section of five teams. They then progressed through to the knockout stages of the Cup competition. In a very close fought quarter-final vs Milton Keynes Prep our girls emerged victorious after being one goal down at half time!
Sadly, this was reversed for the semi-final when they faced a strong St Piran’s team and despite being 3-2 up at half time they lost 9-4 by full time.
Their final match of the day was 3rd/4th place play off against Warwick Prep. The girls battled back after their disappointing semi-final loss and won the 3rd/4th play off 9-3.
“Girls, you were incredible to finish 3rd out of 20 teams.”
The team narrowly missed out on the National Finals as only the top two teams progress through. There is always next year…
Cleo (6G) was awarded player of the tournament by the Rugby School staff out of all 20 teams. Well done to the Year 6 girls.
