Upper Prep (Years 6, 7 and 8) were delighted to be back at Barrow Hills and enjoyed their transition morning on Wednesday. It was great to see them smiling and chatting with their friends and starting to get back into the swing of school life.
For Year 8 the focus of their transition morning was on their captaincies. They introduced themselves to Year 7, explaining the role of a captain within their given area, the characteristics they liked and how this would support them in their role.
Year 7 enjoyed a game of Jenga, they had a block each where they made up questions or rules for the rest of the class. This included challenges such as taking a block with your eyes closed or sharing their best holiday memory.
In Year 6, Mrs Mason and Mr Behan loved hearing about the children’s memories of lockdown, especially the new skills they learned and their funniest moments, as well as the fun they had in the summer holidays. In Mr Behan’s form the children got to know each other even better using the slides below – why don’t you have a go?
Bertie’s funniest moment was seeing the huge pile of hair on the floor after his first haircut, Lauren’s belly flop from the boat also provoked much laughter and Owen accidentally hitting himself in the head with a cricket bat while practising ‘the helicopter’ shot led to much mirth too… thankfully he wasn’t hurt!
Mr Behan and Mrs Mason are delighted with the way Year 6 have settled in this week, and would especially like to welcome new children Toby, Alex and Harry.
Upper Prep, we wish you a great year!
