On Friday 31st January, Years 7 and 8 had the opportunity to hone their revision study skills for future studies. Upper Prep started the workshop listening to the guest speaker, Professor Macintosh, who teaches Classics and Latin and is also a Fellow of St Hilda’s College, Oxford University.
Professor Macintosh spoke to the Upper Prep children about her essential revision tips and explored different techniques which they are able to utilise throughout their education. Upper Prep also had a talk from our new Head Chef, Scott. Scott spoke to the children about the importance of a healthy diet to maximise brain activity and he presented a very tasty selection of ‘brain food’ to try during the break.
Throughout the workshop the children had a chance to try various activities to see which practice most suited them and hopefully made revision a fun and enjoyable experience.
Professor Macintosh said after her visit “Thank you for inviting me to your school, it was a pleasure to talk to such interesting and engaging young people. Your teachers have prepared your students extremely well. I will hopefully meet some of them again at Oxford in the future”.
Thank you to Professor Macintosh, Scott, Mrs Goedkoop and Mr Conway.
