Did you know that May was National Walking Month?
Before half term, Pre-Prep did a little walking and a little talking about the health benefits of walking.
Walking is good for both our physical and mental wellbeing.
It strengthens our heart, which is responsible for pumping the oxygen and blood around the body.
It helps keep our bodies in shape by using muscles and burning calories.
Walking gives us more energy, by boosting circulation and increasing the oxygen supply around our bodies, helping to keep us feeling alert and awake.
Being outside increases our exposure to Vitamin D, responsible for bone health and immune system.
But best of all, we all agreed that going for a walk, whatever the weather, makes us feel happy!
So next time you hear grumblings about going for a walk, remind each other of all the good things it brings!
