Year 1 has had a fantastic time exploring the Titanic box from The Godalming Museum. They loved the books particularly, ‘Polar the Titanic Bear’ and ‘Pig on the Titanic’! It really did feel like stepping back in time when they listened to the tune the pig played during the story.
They were fascinated to learn about the Morse code signal sent by Jack Phillips and were able to have a go themselves. There were an amazing selection of guesses about the material used to make the life jackets and the children were very surprised to learn that it was in fact cork.
It’s a wonderful way to learn about this fascinating story. Year on year I am always amazed by how enthralled the children are by this topic.
The children had a lovely treat last Friday for bonfire night. A wonderful camp fire organised by Mrs Wilson and Mr Hatcher, songs round the fire and hot chocolate and rocky road afterwards. Thank you so much to Mrs Wilson and Mr Hatcher. Also our grateful thanks to the catering team for the tasty treats.
