Year 1 has loved our ‘Be Amazing!’ week. They watched Mrs Burnett’s fantastic assembly about the importance of exercise and sport and then discussed their favourite form of exercise.
The children have written about what makes them amazing in English. They have used their imagination to create their own superheroes and designed unique face masks in art.
They were all awarded a certificate for being amazing and shared these in their Wednesday PSHE lesson. It was also a good opportunity for a ‘show and tell’ session.
In maths, the children have been learning about length and comparisons. There are some lovely photos of the children ordering objects using the correct vocabulary.
Last week, the children each drew a picture of Queen Victoria and I have to say I was very impressed! They loved learning about amazing Victorian inventions in their topic lesson and it was interesting to hear what their favourite inventions were and why. The car and the toilet were quite popular!
Dress up Tuesday was their favourite clothes. Everyone looked wonderful.
“Thank you so much to the children for such fantastic work this week and I really hope they have a well deserved rest over half term. Many thanks as well to the parents for all the wonderful support they have given the children this half of term.”
