Year 4 have really made the most of being back in school and enjoyed the grounds this week. It has been a welcome release for the children (and possibly parents!) to leave their screens and distance learning and be back with their friends and socially distanced fun activities at school.
The children have built bug boxes, houses for mice, drawn a plan of the school building and grounds and had a scavenger hunt (no bird egg shells or four leaf clovers to be found). They have read ‘The Runner’ by Keith Gray and the children were asked to design their own front cover for the book and to write their own blurb. Max’s (4R) blurb describes the story perfectly “Jason and Jam are on a train, both travelling alone, both going to Liverpool. Jam is a runaway and tells Jason fun stories about his life as a runner. But Jason soon finds out that Jam is concealing something from him.”
Year 4 have taken part in sport every afternoon including a sports day activity with medals, spent lots of time outside and even enjoyed a BBQ.
We will miss you Year 4 but feel you are ready for the new challenges of Year 5!
