On Thursday 24th June, our Year 4 children visited Godalming Fire Station for a talk about fire safety and a tour around the fire engine. They learnt about the importance of smoke alarms and to get out and stay out in the eventuality of a fire. The highlight was getting to use the hoses and spray the school minibuses.
A huge thank you to Mr Hatcher for organising the trip and to all the fire fighters for having us.
“Thank you for the splashing adventure through the hoses; it was so exciting to see what firemen do” Aria (4G)
“I loved finding out about what you wear when fighting a fire. I’m sure you get very hot wearing all those clothes!” Suzie (4R)
“I enjoyed exploring the fire engine and exploring its contents’. I loved spraying the hoses and investigating all the different settings.” Emilia (4R)
