Year 2 children have had a fabulous opportunity to explore the depth and meaning of this Friday’s VE Day celebrations during their BH@Home learning this week.
Cracking the code using ‘Morse’ was a spectacular way to present a challenge in maths. A comprehension task researching facts relating to the end of the Second World War provided a purposeful way to find relevant information and key words. Lancaster Bombers and Spitfires weaved their way via broadband to their waiting pilots! Union Jack bunting was carefully prepared ready to adorn windows and gardens to show the spirit of the nation as together, but apart, VE Day celebrations took place.
As ever, grateful thanks to all our parents who persevere at home in helping to deliver the children’s current experience of learning.
